Graham Coop and Isabella Seif co-author a chapter in “International Arbitration in the Energy Sector”

Partner Graham Coop and associate Isabella Seif have co-authored a chapter on “States’ Right to Regulate” in “International Arbitration in the Energy Sector”, edited by Maxi Scherer and published by Oxford University Press.  The book can be found here.

The book provides broad coverage of different forms and systems of dispute resolution across both renewable and non-renewable sectors.  Graham and Isabella’s chapter covers the complex relationship between the investor protections offered by Part III of the Energy Charter Treaty and the role of States in regulating the energy sectors of their economy, with reference to the investment arbitration decisions rendered to date in this area.

The publication of this significant reference work is being launched today with an event hosted by 39 Essex Chambers and Oxford University Press.  Details of this event can be found here.  Two further book launches will also be held in Hamburg and Stockholm on 22 March 2018 and 5 April 2018 respectively.
