Nadir Soares

Staff Lawyer

Nadir is a lawyer qualified to practice in Brazil and New York.  She holds a law degree from the University of Fortaleza (Unifor), Brazil, and an L.L.M. from New York University School of Law in International Legal Studies, where she received the International Law and Human Rights (ILHR) Fellowship for the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL).  She has also studied Investor State Arbitration at the American University Washington College of Law.

Before joining Volterra Fietta, Nadir was Judge Raul Pangalangan’s intern at Trial Chamber IX of the International Criminal Court (ICC) and a fellow at the Appeals Chamber of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL).  She has also worked as a legal advisor at the Human Rights Committee of a Brazilian State Congress, where she analysed and assessed Bills, investigated and drafted daily reports on various human rights issues for the President of the Committee and other Congressman.  In addition to her professional experience, she was a research assistant in public international law and international humanitarian law during her bachelor’s program and an intern at a Brazilian law firm.
