Anastasia Choromidou


Anastasia has been admitted to practice as a lawyer in Greece and has a law degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.  She holds an LLM in international law from the University College London, with Distinction.  There, she undertook research with a particular focus on the comparative protection of foreign investments in the European legal order.  She also studied international law, international human rights, EU law and humanitarian law at Harvard University, the London School of Economics, the European University Institute in Florence and The Hague Academy of International Law.

Anastasia advises private entities and sovereign States on contentious and non-contentious public international law and international dispute resolution issues.  Recent highlights of her practice include advising a sovereign State in four ICSID investment arbitration proceedings, advising an African State in proceedings before the International Court of Justice, and advising investors in ICSID annulment proceedings against a Latin American State.

Prior to joining Volterra Fietta, Anastasia worked on commercial and investment arbitrations at a Swiss arbitration firm.  She also worked at a leading legal practice in Greece, advising clients in relation to international and domestic proceedings, including applications to the European Court of Human Rights.
