Daniela is a Colombian qualified lawyer. She has a Bachelor’s degree in law and a Post-graduate Diploma in Customs and Foreign Trade Law from Universidad del Rosario, Colombia, where she was selected as Colegial de Numero and graduated with honours. She also holds a MJur (Magister Juris) from the University of Oxford. There, she studied International Dispute Settlement, International Law of the Sea, International Economic Law and Competition Law.
Prior to joining Volterra Fietta, she worked in the Treaty Section of the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in the International Affairs Office of the Colombian Ministry of Agriculture, where she negotiated and drafted different international instruments such as treaties and memoranda of understandings. She also completed an internship in the Colombian Mission to the World Trade Organization and worked for the law firm Godoy & Hoyos Abogados in the international trade law and customs law practice.
She has served as a professor of law, as an academic tutor of public international law and as a research assistant. She was also part of the Universidad del Rosario Research Group on the Law of the Sea, where she researched and published on the law of the High Seas.
