Derin Coker

Staff lawyer

Derin is a Nigerian lawyer. She holds a law degree from the University of Warwick and an LLM from the University of Pennsylvania where she focused on international law and arbitration and during which time she undertook a course focused on human rights in global business at The Wharton School.

Prior to joining Volterra Fietta, Derin worked as an associate in the litigation and arbitration department of a Nigerian commercial law firm where she advised and represented corporations in the energy, telecommunications, automotive, maritime and consumer products sectors before domestic courts and tribunals and in international arbitral proceedings (under the UNCITRAL, ICC and LCIA rules). She also has experience acting as secretary to tribunals under Nigerian local arbitration rules.

During her LLM, Derin organised Penn Law’s International Arbitration Conference and was an Associate Editor on the University of Pennsylvania Journal of International Law.
