Francisco Ochoa Carrasco

Staff Lawyer

Francisco is an Ecuadorian qualified lawyer. He holds a law degree from the University of Cuenca, an MPhil in International Economic Law from Simón Bolívar Andean University, and an LLM in International Business Law from King’s College London. He has focused his studies in International Arbitration, International Investment Law, and International Oil and Gas Law,

Francisco advises sovereign states, state-owned companies and private parties in international dispute resolution proceedings, as well as in non-contentious matters under public international law.

Before joining Volterra Fietta, Francisco worked at a leading Ecuadorian law firm, advising and representing clients in commercial arbitration, corporate law, competition law, and commercial litigation. He has experience in almost all courts and instances in Ecuador, including the National Court of Justice. He also has represented clients in pro bono cases concerning International Human Rights Law. In addition, he worked as an adjunct professor at the University of Cuenca, and as an assistant researcher in a consultancy firm.
