Maherunesa Khandaker

Maherunesa is an English qualified lawyer. She holds a law degree from King’s College London, a postgraduate diploma in Intellectual Property Law from the University of Oxford and is on course to complete an LLM in Human Rights Law at Birkbeck College, University of London. She has focused her studies on Transnational Business and International Human Rights Law, International Trade and WTO Law, and International Environmental Law.

Maherunesa advises sovereign states, state-owned companies, and private parties in international dispute resolution proceedings, as well as in non-contentious matters under public international law.

Before joining Volterra Fietta, Maherunesa worked at an international law firm as a solicitor advising and representing clients in intellectual property litigation with experience in both the High Court and Court of Appeal. Throughout her career, Maherunesa has had the opportunity to work on matters involving the research of complex technical and legal issues particularly for clients in the pharmaceutical, energy, and telecommunications sectors. In addition to her career as a solicitor, Maherunesa has also provided pro bono advice to a number of London based NGOs in relation to Human Rights matters.
