Sameena Syed

Staff Lawyer

Sameena Syed is an Indian-qualified lawyer and an empanelled arbitrator at the Southern India Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Centre for ADR (SICCI-ADR).  She holds a bachelor of law BA.LL.B. (Hons) from Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar law University, school of excellence in law Chennai and an LL.M. in international investment treaty arbitration with a distinction from Uppsala University Sweden.

In June 2023, Sameena was selected to be a member of the steering committee for the Indian Women in International Arbitration group, a group committed to the advancement of Indian women in the practice of international arbitration.

Prior to joining Volterra Fietta, Sameena was an associate in the practice of a leading Indian arbitration lawyer, as well as in government and court positions.  She was also a senior legal associate at Kovise Foundation Conflict Resolution International (KFCRI).  While at KFCRI she led their sector specific arbitration project in international investment treaty arbitration amongst other things.
