Sofia Roma


Sofia is a Greek qualified lawyer. She holds a law degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and an LLM in Public International Law from Leiden University. She has also studied International and European law at the University of Vienna.

Sofia advises sovereign States, State-owned companies and private parties in international dispute resolution proceedings, as well as in non-contentious matters under public international law.

Prior to joining Volterra Fietta, Sofia worked at a leading Greek law firm with an International and EU law practice, where she was engaged in litigation before both domestic courts and the European Court of Justice (CJEU). She has also interned for the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) and an NGO. Sofia has also worked as a rapporteur for the Austrian Foreign Ministry Mission to the UN Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space in Vienna. Lastly, she has worked as a research assistant on European and International Humanitarian Law issues.
