Following the success of the inaugural London International Boundary Conference, the second edition of the Conference will take place on 1 and 2 December 2015 at the Royal Geographical Society.
The event, co-sponsored by Volterra Fietta, will provide a unique and multidisciplinary insight into the complex world of international boundary and sovereignty disputes. Panellists will examine recent developments in disputed “hotspots” around the world and discuss new and emerging ideas for the resolution and management of territorial disputes from legal, geopolitical, technical, commercial and other viewpoints. The Conference will examine how these varied, emerging perspectives might inform a more integrated approach to international boundary and territorial disputes.
Panellists participating are among the world’s leading experts and practitioners in the effective resolution of territorial disputes. Professor Tullio Treves, former Judge of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (and President of the Seabed Disputes Chamber), will be the keynote speaker of the Conference. Volterra Fietta partner Robert Volterra will also be speaking at the Conference. Judge Schwebel, former Judge and President of the International Court of Justice, will be the guest of honour at the speakers’ dinner.
Six panels will be addressing the following topics:
The London International Boundary Conference will attract those with an interest in international boundary and sovereignty issues, whatever their particular background or perspective. In addition, a number of representatives from UK and international media will be attending the Conference.

In addition to Volterra Fietta, this not-for-profit event will be hosted by King’s College London (Department of Geography), Marbdy Consulting Ltd and Maritime Zone Solutions Ltd.
